Which Second-Hand iPhone Should You Buy in 2026? Best Picks for Every Budget

With a new iPhone 17 now around ₹99,900, a used iPhone makes more sense than ever. Here are the best second-hand iPhones to buy in 2026 at every budget, with real prices from our showrooms.

Which Second-Hand iPhone Should You Buy in 2026? Best Picks for Every Budget

2026 has been a strange year to buy a new iPhone in India. After Apple's September price revision, the iPhone 17 now starts at about ₹99,900 (it launched at ₹82,900), and the new iPhone 18 Pro starts at ₹1,64,900, ₹30,000 more than the 17 Pro.

So the question we hear most at our Gandhinagar, South Bopal and Bodakdev showrooms has changed. It's no longer "should I buy used?" It's "which second-hand iPhone should I buy?"

This guide answers that for every budget, with real prices from our own listings. One note before we start: the prices below are what our certified pre-owned iPhones were listed at on 31 October 2026. They move every week with stock, storage and battery health, so treat them as a guide and check live prices here.

Quick answer: best second-hand iPhone by budget

Budget Best pick Why Our price range
Under ₹20,000 iPhone SE (3rd gen) or iPhone 12 mini 5G, recent chip, small and light ₹13,890 – ₹21,590
₹25,000 – ₹36,000 iPhone 13 Best value for money. Great battery, years of updates left ₹28,890 – ₹36,090
₹37,000 – ₹45,000 iPhone 15 or iPhone 14 Plus USB-C and Dynamic Island, or the biggest battery ₹37,590 – ₹45,290
₹48,000 – ₹66,000 iPhone 15 Pro Cheapest iPhone that runs Apple Intelligence ₹56,690 – ₹65,890
₹70,000 – ₹1,00,000 iPhone 17 (pre-owned) or iPhone 16 Pro Max Nearly new for ~₹30,000 less, or flagship cameras ₹70,090 – ₹1,00,890

Best second-hand iPhone under ₹20,000

iPhone SE (3rd gen): ₹13,890 – ₹17,990. It has the same A15 chip as the iPhone 13, 5G, Touch ID and a compact 4.7-inch screen. It's a great phone for parents, students or as a second phone. The trade-offs are a small battery, a single camera and an old-style design with thick bezels.

iPhone 12 mini: ₹19,090 – ₹21,590. You get an OLED screen, Face ID, 5G and MagSafe in a phone that fits in any pocket. The catch is battery life. Heavy users will be reaching for a charger by evening.

What about the iPhone 11 Pro Max at ₹18,490 – ₹20,590? It's tempting: big screen, three cameras, good battery. But it's a 2019 phone with no 5G, and the iPhone 11 series is now the oldest iPhone still supported by iOS 27, so it's likely to be among the first dropped from updates. We've also covered a hardware security flaw affecting the iPhone 11.

Honest advice: if you can stretch your budget by ₹8,000–₹10,000, the iPhone 13 is a far better long-term buy than anything under ₹20,000. See iPhones under ₹15,000 or ₹15,000–₹30,000.

Best second-hand iPhone under ₹30,000–₹36,000: iPhone 13

If you only read one section, read this one. The iPhone 13 is the best value second-hand iPhone in 2026, and it's the best-selling used iPhone in India for good reason.

  • Price: ₹28,890 – ₹36,090 at our stores (128GB and 256GB)
  • A15 Bionic chip: still smooth for Instagram, BGMI, UPI apps and everyday multitasking
  • Battery: a big step up from the iPhone 12, comfortably a full day for most people
  • Cameras: excellent dual cameras with Cinematic mode video
  • Updates: supported by iOS 27, with likely several more years to go

iPhone 13 or iPhone 14? At ₹28,890 – ₹37,090, the iPhone 14 costs about the same and is almost the same phone: same design, a slightly better low-light camera and Crash Detection. Our advice is simple. Pick whichever one has the better battery health at the same price.

Want zoom? The iPhone 12 Pro (₹29,890 – ₹34,990) adds a telephoto lens, but it's a year older with a weaker battery. For most people, the iPhone 13 is still the smarter buy.

Best second-hand iPhone under ₹45,000

iPhone 15: ₹37,590 – ₹45,290. This is the one we recommend most in this range. You get USB-C (one cable for your phone, laptop and earbuds), Dynamic Island, a sharp 48MP main camera, and a battery Apple rates for 1,000 cycles before reaching 80%, twice the iPhone 14's rating.

iPhone 14 Plus: ₹38,590 – ₹43,290. If battery life is your top priority, this is the pick. It has a big 6.7-inch screen and is easily a day-and-a-half phone for many people.

iPhone 13 Pro: ₹40,190 – ₹46,390. Best for camera lovers and gamers on this budget: a smooth 120Hz ProMotion display and a 3x telephoto lens.

Best second-hand iPhone under ₹65,000: iPhone 15 Pro

iPhone 15 Pro: ₹56,690 – ₹65,890. This is the cheapest iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence, which needs an iPhone 15 Pro or newer. You also get a lighter titanium body, the Action Button, a 3x telephoto camera and faster USB-C transfers. If you want an iPhone that will stay current for years, this is where the value is.

iPhone 14 Pro: ₹48,390 – ₹51,490. It has an always-on display, Dynamic Island and a 48MP camera, but still uses Lightning and doesn't run Apple Intelligence. It's a good phone, just a little behind the 15 Pro.

A note on cheap Pro Max deals: you'll sometimes see an iPhone 15 Pro Max for less than a 15 Pro. Check the battery. When we wrote this, our cheapest 15 Pro Max (₹51,490) had 81% battery health. That's a fair price for that battery, but it's why the price is lower. Our battery health guide explains how to factor this in.

Best second-hand iPhone from ₹70,000 to ₹1 lakh

Pre-owned iPhone 17: from ₹70,090. A new iPhone 17 is now around ₹99,900. A lightly used one saves you roughly ₹30,000 for a phone that's barely a year old, with a 120Hz display, 256GB base storage and a much better selfie camera.

iPhone 16 Pro Max: ₹85,490 – ₹1,00,890. It has the big 6.9-inch screen, a 5x telephoto camera, Camera Control and excellent battery life. If you shoot a lot of photos and video, it's the better pick over a base iPhone 17.

Going higher? Our pre-owned iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max start around ₹1,06,000, compared with ₹1,64,900 for a new iPhone 18 Pro. See phones above ₹50,000.

Which iPhones to avoid in 2026

  • iPhone XS, XS Max and XR: no longer get the latest iOS. Skip them, even if they're cheap.
  • iPhone 11 series: the oldest models on iOS 27, with no 5G. Only buy one if the price is very low and you plan to use it for a year or two.
  • 64GB models if you shoot lots of photos or video. You'll run out of space fast.
  • 12 mini and 13 mini if you're a heavy user. They're lovely phones, but they have small batteries.
  • Anything below 80% battery health, unless the discount covers a new battery.

How long will a second-hand iPhone get updates?

Apple supports iPhones for a long time. iOS 27 still runs on the iPhone 11 from 2019. Here's where each model stands today:

Model Launched Gets iOS 27? Apple Intelligence?
iPhone 11 series2019Yes (oldest supported)No
iPhone 12 series2020YesNo
iPhone 13 series2021YesNo
iPhone 14 series2022YesNo
iPhone 15 / 15 Plus2023YesNo
iPhone 15 Pro / 15 Pro Max2023YesYes
iPhone 16 series2024YesYes
iPhone 17 series2025YesYes

Apple doesn't announce end dates in advance, but going by recent years, a newer model gives you more years of updates for your money.

Pre-owned vs certified refurbished: is the extra cost worth it?

On our site you'll see the same model listed under different types: Pre-Owned, Certified Refurbished, Sealed Pack (with brand or store warranty) and Demo Units. The price gap is usually small. For example, an iPhone 13 128GB was ₹29,890 as pre-owned and ₹31,890 as certified refurbished when we wrote this.

Every type passes the same 120-point inspection. The difference is mainly in cosmetic condition and battery, so compare the grade and battery health on each listing and pick what matters more to you. For the full breakdown, read refurbished vs second-hand: what's the difference.

128GB or 256GB?

128GB is enough if you back up photos to iCloud or Google Photos and don't shoot much 4K video. 256GB is worth the usual ₹2,000–₹5,000 extra if you keep your whole WhatsApp history, shoot lots of video or plan to keep the phone for 3+ years.
